Another Great Holiday at Marriott’s Marbella Beach Resort!

This is the second year running that we have stayed at the Marriott's Marbella Beach Resort, and it was actually better the second time around than the first. Perhaps this was to do with knowing the complex a little better, or the fact that the summer in the UK was just so wet and dreadful either way, it was the perfect summer holiday, and just what my family and myself needed!

One of the best things about the Marriott's Marbella, is the friendliness of the staff that work there, and the service that they provide. This is particularly important when first arriving, the flight from the UK itself is short and we pre booked a private chauffeur to bring us to the resort. The staff are friendly and efficient on the desk though, and quickly sorted us out. This friendliness was maintained throughout our stay there, and was in itself a real highlight.

Once we had checked in, we could relax into the holiday and enjoy all the facilities that the resort had to offer. There really is something for everyone there, and our kids certainly enjoyed the new dedicated kids pool areas with slides, and the kids activity centre and playground. At the same time, there were other areas which were definitely more suited to just couples holidaying, and I have to admit to visiting these quiet areas once in a while myself! There was also a gym that I used once a day, and it had everything I needed for a holiday workout, although serious gym goers will obviously find it limited. (Hey, it’s a holiday. Relax. Chill!).

We had a large two bedroom apartment which can sleep up to 6 people however we noticed the Marriott’s Marbella also had one bedroom and three bedroom apartments available.
The complex had more than enough things to do to keep the family entertained for the day, and for me personally, this also included Wifi access. It didn't have the strongest signal in certain places, but it was easy to find somewhere it was strong enough to catch up on emails or check in on the news a couple of times a day. Adequate enough, but not great if wanting to watch something over YouTube. Streaming digital radio channels was just fine though.

We were staying in what is known at the resort as Gold Holiday season although we met other couples and families at the resort who had slightly different timeshare ownership known as silver, gold and the much sought after platinum period. We picked up a guide at the resort showing us which season applied to each period for future use.

Of course, nowhere is perfect, and if the Marriott's does have a downside, it is in the prices that they charge in the restaurants. Whilst it is ok for the occasional meal, it is far cheaper to eat in one of the restaurants a little down the road for sometimes half the price, and there are a couple of supermarkets to stock up in just a little distance away. We ended up using a combination of all three options, eating at the Marriott restaurants on nights we couldn't be bothered to leave the complex, and wandering further afield when we had more energy or fancied a stroll. It actually suited us nicely, and it was good to have all the options to choose from.

All in all, it is possibly one of the best holidays that we have had, and we are definitely going back there next year. I haven't tried any of the other Marriott places in the Costa del Sol or Spain in general, but if they are anything similar to this one, we might also try those in the years ahead.

After reading this resort review you are probably now asking the question how do I buy a Marriotts Marbella timeshare resale.
